Who We Are
Heritage Force Sri Lanka (HFSL) is a non-profit organization headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, with members around the world who share a deep passion for uncovering and preserving the historical and cultural heritage of Sri Lanka. We strive to support scientific endeavours to discover new and redefine existing historical and archaeological evidence.
Our Objectives
- Discovery: We are committed to supporting and financing Sri Lankan archaeological exploration projects and historical research initiatives, working in close cooperation with the Sri Lankan Government. Our goal is to not only fund these projects but also to enhance their scientific quality. Project proposals are rigorously evaluated based on various project characteristics.
- Awareness: HFSL believes in the power of documentation and dissemination. We provide support for documenting the outcomes of projects that we fund. Furthermore, we actively engage with communities to promote awareness of Sri Lankan and Australian history, as well as related international history. This outreach extends to both the broader Australian and global communities.
- Preservation: Our commitment to preserving historically significant archaeological findings and artifacts is unwavering. We fund projects dedicated to the preservation of these treasures using the most appropriate methodologies, ensuring they endure for the benefit of future generations. Simultaneously, we uphold Sri Lanka’s inalienable rights to all discoveries resulting from our projects.
- Research and Collaboration: HFSL serves as a bridge between Australian and Sri Lankan universities and other research organizations involved in archaeological, anthropological, and historical research, studies, and projects. We facilitate collaborations, fostering the exchange of knowledge and expertise to advance our collective understanding of Sri Lanka’s rich heritage.
